Traffic School & Defensive Driving

DrivingUniversity.com, Virginia's state approved online course, has been designed to keep you, the driver, in mind. The course will not teach you how to drive - you already know how. It will, however, teach you how to be a better, more conscientious driver. You will be reminded of the seriousness of operating a one-ton piece of machinery. You will become more aware of the uncountable actions that you and your fellow drivers take every day. Packed with interesting Fun Car Facts, real-life photos and plenty of highway humor caught on camera, this course lets you learn and enjoy at the same time.

As a state/court-approved online course provider, we follow their rules and requirements so that we can provide you with an educational and user-friendly experience.

Be sure to read each page in its entirety so that you can answer the questions that come up along the way. If you read the material, and don't just 'skim' the pages, you can easily answer all questions correctly.

Finally, each page has either a Next, Back or Continue button at the bottom. Use only these buttons to move through the course and maintain your place. You may log in and out as often as you like because we automatically keep track of your progress including the last page you visited before exiting the course. When you return to the course, we'll put you back on the last page you visited.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Using your browser buttons to go "Back" or "Forward" can interfere with the tracking of your course progress.

The Certificate of Completion
Your Certificate of Completion will be sent to you after completing the final quiz at the end of the course. Complete the quiz by 5 p.m. ET and your Certificate will be processed that same day! If you complete the course after 5 p.m., your Certificate will be processed the next business day. If taking the course for ticket dismissal, be sure to provide the Court with the Certificate when you receive it.

DMV Referred and Point Reduction Course-Takers
Complete the final quiz at the end of the course by 5 p.m. ET and Driving University will report your completion to the Virginia DMV that same day! If you complete the course after this time, we will report your completion to the DMV the next business day.
